Understanding IsonAI’s new model version names

IsonAI now uses the names Omni 1.3, LYT 1.2, and PRME 1.3, replacing the 26.x series. These names took effect on 3 September 2026.

The smaller numbers do not mean reduced capabilities or a restart of IsonAI’s development. We are adjusting how we name model versions so their development can be followed independently of a year label.

Why change the names?

The previous 26.x series incorporated a year marker. The 1.x series now identifies the product version of each model. This gives us a clearer reference when communicating model updates over time.

A version number should be read alongside the model name and its release notes. The same number on two models does not mean they have the same capabilities. Likewise, a change in naming format does not, by itself, indicate a capability upgrade.

Previous and current names

Omni 26.3Omni 1.3A naming adjustment; model capabilities remain the same.
LYT 26.2LYT 1.2A naming adjustment; model capabilities remain the same.
PRME 26.1PRME 1.3A new name that also reflects an AI engine update deployed earlier.

For Omni and LYT, this change concerns version names only. PRME has a separate update story: its underlying AI engine was updated in August 2026, before the new naming scheme took effect.

We explain that update in A closer look at PRME 1.3.

What does this mean for users?

You will see the new version names when choosing a model in IsonAI. You can continue to choose according to your needs: the naming adjustment does not change Omni’s role as the general-purpose option, LYT’s focus on lightweight conversations, or PRME’s role in more involved technical work.

Model versions are also separate from app versions. PRME 1.3 and Omni 1.3 do not refer to the IsonAI app’s release number on the App Store. The app and the models have their own release notes.
